Lets start with what I am not.
I am not part of any government. I am not associated with any political party.
I am an Australian citizen who wants to see a better Australia for our kids and our grandkids. I have two of each.
I believe that a national celebration of what is good about Australia is essential for a better Australia.
I have operated businesses since my late teens including windsurfer hire (1977 – 1981), yacht charter (1990 – 2001), motor accident repairs (1984 – 1989), debt recovery (2002 to the present) and legal firms (various times from 1988 to the present). I completed at B.A. and LL.B. at Monash University and was admitted as a lawyer in 1983. I am a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
My current work is as the Managing Director of eCollect – a mid sized debt recovery business and Managing Partner of E C Legal – an incorporated legal practice. Between them, eCollect and E C Legal have over 60 staff members. I serve as the honorary legal counsel for Squash and Racquetball Victoria.
In my workplace, we have people from many different backgrounds relying on each other to do their best work. These are people are my inspiration for the Australia Long Weekend proposal.
I have travelled extensively around Australia and met people from all walks of life. The thing they all have in common is the desire to have happy, fulfilling lives for themselves and their families.
Away from work, I have played competition squash for 40 or so years and try to keep fit with yoga and gym sessions. I enjoy outdoor activities including bushwalking and water based activities of all types – surfing and sailing classic wooden vessels being the favourites.
